Description
A stunning example of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT that was delivered to its first Italian owner in December 1965, confirmed by the original ‘Libretto’ that comes with the car.
This early example is in excellent overall condition with regard to both bodywork, engine and more importantly retains its original and ultra rare factory leather interior in ‘Testa di Moro’.
A true part of Italian Automotive history and a pleasure to drive.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT ‘stepfront’, a 2+2 coupé of timeless elegance was created for Bertone by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro later voted ‘Designer of the Century’.
The model is powered by the four-cylinder in-line 1.6-liter alloy engine, with DOHC distribution and fitted with disc brakes all round. Thanks to the twin carburettors and the 5-speed all synchromesh gearbox, the Giulia displays excellent performance, road manners and handling.
All of these factors placed the Giulia Sprint GT at the top its category in period, which was also reflected in its price new being at the same level of similar sports cars from Jaguar or Porsche.
Eligible for pre-1965 rallies or a WE excursion and investment potential it ‘ticks many boxes’.
