HISTORY:
The Ferrari Portofino is the successor to the Ferrari California T. This GT with retractable roof was introduced at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. According to Ferrari, it is not a further development of the California but a completely new model. The engine is the 3.9-liter turbocharged F154 engine, as also used in the Ferrari 488 and GTC4 Lusso T. The engine produces 600 hp and 760 Nm of torque.
The car is named after the seaside resort of Portofino on the Italian Riviera.
The double-clutch gearbox shifts even faster than before. There are several driving modes which change the gearshift characteristics. A differential has been fitted and the power steering is electric. This power steering is previously used on the Ferrari 812 superfast and provides a lot of power steering at low speed while the high speed power steering is less. With the Portofino one steps away from the "3 volume" principle of the California, front with engine, passenger compartment and trunk. In the Portofino the passenger compartment flows seamlessly into the trunk. Closed, the Portofino is therefore more of a coupe than the California.
