The gearbox is from an S2 (4.2 liters), it’s a 4 speed with synchros, more comfortable to drive than the original moss gearbox. It still has the original gear knob.
Originally supplied to the USA on 22nd of November 1961 as a road-going fixed head coupe.
This is a very early car #223 off the line. Flat floor with welded bonnet vents, with inside bonnet latches.
Unfortunately no history up to 1997.
Built as a racing car in 1997, it raced in Germany up to 2001. The car had German FIA papers.
Was then bought in 2010 by a Canadian collector who started a restoration to bring it back to road specifications, including engine rebuild.
When current owner bought the car in 2016, he carried out a complete nut and bolt restoration including body, engine, interior, everything was redone, there are over 150+ photos of restoration carried out. Since restoration, the car has been driven 400 miles.
Currently holds a Belgian road registration.
